The Denver Broncos will be without star defender Pat Surtain II for their Thursday night matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Surtain suffered a concussion in last Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers and was quickly ruled out for this week’s game. Without Surtain, the Broncos’ defense struggled against the Chargers, ultimately falling behind 23-0 after three quarters.
While Surtain’s absence is a significant loss, the Broncos will have cornerbacks Riley Moss and Ja’Quan McMillian available against the Saints. Levi Wallace is expected to step in for Surtain, as he did against the Chargers. Additionally, offensive lineman Mike McGlinchey and linebacker Baron Browning are questionable but may provide support if they can return from injury.
The Saints will be starting rookie QB Spencer Rattler, who is making just his second NFL start. Despite Surtain’s absence, the Broncos will look to capitalize on the Saints’ injuries on offense. The Denver defense will need to step up to secure a victory without their star cornerback on Thursday night.
