In Lebanon, a series of Israeli airstrikes in Nabatieh killed 16 people, including the mayor of the city, during a meeting to coordinate aid deliveries in the war-torn region. Israel targeted Hezbollah positions in the area, with UN peacekeeping forces reporting an Israeli attack on a watchtower in south Lebanon. The incident is the latest in a string of violations in the region, prompting international condemnation.
The US has demanded proof from Israel to disprove allegations of a starvation policy in northern Gaza and called for the government to allow more aid into the territory.
