Democratic candidates for Congress in Colorado have a significant fundraising advantage over Republicans in the current election cycle, with over $34 million raised compared to the GOP’s reported total of $10.7 million. Even removing Adam Frisch’s large fundraising amount from the 3rd Congressional District, Democrats still maintain a lead. The most competitive race is in the 8th District, where state Rep. Gabe Evans hopes to unseat Democratic U.S. Rep. Yadira Caraveo, who leads in fundraising and outside spending support.
In the 4th District, Democrat Trisha Calvarese has raised over $3 million in a bid to challenge Republican U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, who has raised significantly less in comparison. Despite Boebert’s likely partisan advantage, Calvarese has garnered support due to opposition of Boebert’s controversial reputation. In the 3rd District, Frisch, who narrowly lost to Boebert in 2022, leads in fundraising with over $2 million cash on hand, while his opponent Jeff Hurd has raised $2.2 million but remains behind in funding.
Overall, Democrats hold a financial advantage in most Colorado congressional races, with significant fundraising disparities between Democratic and Republican candidates. The election cycle is heating up, with ballots already out to voters, and the final weeks leading up to Election Day on Nov. 5 are crucial for candidates to secure their positions.
