With less than a month left until election day, Denver’s Clerk and Recorder has released the city’s ballot information booklet and the legally required ballot issue notice. The informational booklet focuses on Denver-specific issues that will be on the ballot on November 5, including comments supporting or opposing these measures. While the ballot issue notice containing tax information has been mailed to all registered voters, non-tax-related measures will be available online for the first time this year. This move is expected to save taxpayers around $200,000 per year. Printed copies of the booklet can be obtained at Denver public library locations, voter service and polling centers, and the elections division’s main office.
Clerk and Recorder Paul López expressed his commitment to being proper stewards of taxpayer funds, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring access to information for all voters. The ballot issue notice has already been mailed to all voters, with full ballots to follow on October 11. Denver voters are encouraged to return their ballots early using the city’s secure drop boxes, by mail with two first-class postage stamps, or in person at Voter Service and Polling Centers.
The move to provide non-tax-related measures online aims to increase access to the democratic process and provide voters with the information they need to make informed decisions. Election Day is on November 5, and Denver residents are urged to participate in the electoral process by returning their ballots in a timely manner.
