The Denver City Council is set to discuss several infrastructure and transit projects during their meeting on Monday. One project that will be considered is the Jewell/Evans pedestrian and bike bridge, which is set to receive a $2.6 million contract to kick start construction. This project will connect the area just off Broadway with the Overland Park Golf Course.
Additionally, councilmembers will consider a $750,000 grant agreement with the Regional Transportation District to continue “microtransit” options in some of Denver’s northern neighborhoods. The city will match the grant with $3.5 million and may expand the service to neighborhoods along the Interstate 25 corridor.
Other items on the agenda include contracts and resolutions for the Denver Connector Microtransit Program, funding agreements for affordable housing units, and contracts for workforce development services and services for transgender and non-binary individuals.
There are also bills to approve a development agreement for the construction of approximately 64 acres of land and to transfer funds for a temporary rent and utility assistance program. Public hearings will cover map amendments for property rezoning to allow for the construction of accessory dwelling units, mixed-use developments, and a five-story mixed-use building.
Overall, the meeting will cover a range of important projects and initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure and transit options in Denver.
