Bus aide in Littleton accused of abusing children with autism changes plea from not guilty

Former Littleton school bus aide, Kiarra Jones, has withdrawn her not guilty plea in a case where she was accused of abusing children with autism. The 29-year-old faces more than a dozen charges related to the allegations, including physically assaulting a 10-year-old boy. Jones was fired from her role as a bus monitor in March after video footage appeared to show the abuse. Two mothers, Jessica Vestal and Brittany Yarbrough, whose children were victims, expressed their concerns and frustrations over the case. They discovered the abuse through bruises on their children and were shocked by Jones’ initial not guilty plea. Despite the delay in the case, the mothers are allowing the criminal justice system to run its course. In addition, they plan to bring a civil rights lawsuit against Littleton Public Schools and the Joshua School, where the children attended. The case has sparked outrage and concern in the community, with viewers being cautioned about the disturbing nature of the videos. A new arraignment for Jones is set for December 16, and the case continues to unfold as investigations progress.
