Aurora firefighter Brad Bledsoe made headlines once again with his record-breaking pumpkin, Sarah Sanderson, weighing 2,190 pounds at the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off in Fort Collins. This massive gourd shattered records in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming, impressing spectators from all three states. Bledsoe, a fire medic with Aurora Fire Rescue, named the pumpkin after a character from “Hocus Pocus” and has another pumpkin, Winnie Sanderson, that holds the title of the largest pumpkin ever grown in Colorado at 2,083 pounds.
Bledsoe’s passion for competitive pumpkin-growing led him to set his sights on surpassing the current world record of 2,749 pounds. He hopes to grow a pumpkin weighing more than 2,500 pounds and is actively sharing his progress on social media. Despite his demanding career as a firefighter, Bledsoe dedicates his free time to cultivating these giant pumpkins in his family’s greenhouse.
This achievement showcases Bledsoe’s determination and green thumb skills, as well as his commitment to excellence in both his career and personal hobbies. Stay tuned for updates on his pumpkin-growing journey and watch out for more record-breaking gourds from this impressive firefighter.
