Israel has announced the death of a soldier in Lebanon during what it has described as a limited ground operation. The 22-year-old soldier, part of a commando brigade, fell during combat in Lebanon. Hezbollah claimed to have inflicted casualties on Israeli troops in the village of Maroun al-Ras. Israel confirmed that Iran succeeded in striking Israeli airbases with missiles during an attack, but the damage was limited and had no impact on Israeli Air Force operations. The attack resulted in one fatality in the West Bank and two injuries in Tel Aviv.
Israel’s defense minister praised the air defense fighters for intercepting Iranian missiles and saving lives. The IDF reported a continued barrage of projectiles from Lebanon into Israel, with no reported casualties. In response to the escalation, the IDF has destroyed multiple terrorist infrastructures in Lebanon. In addition, Iran’s president warned of harsher reactions if Israel does not stop its crimes.
Furthermore, three suspects have been arrested in Denmark in connection with two explosions near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen, likely caused by hand grenades. Germany has urged its citizens to leave Iran due to the volatile situation. Israel’s foreign minister threatened retaliation for Iran’s missile attack, while also declaring the UN Secretary-General persona non grata. Amidst the escalating conflict, Russia and Egypt have condemned the Israeli escalation in southern Lebanon.
