In a recent project that aimed to project young NHL prospects into tiers, Prospect Tiers was created as a collaboration with NHL scouts and analysts. The goal was to gather a consensus view of the upside of the game’s top young players. The project categorized under-23 skaters into five tiers – MVP, Franchise, All-Star, Star, and Support.
Ultimately, the list was created with feedback and suggestions from nearly two dozen industry sources. While there was no true consensus, the project aimed to create the best list of hockey’s best prospects. Among those not ranked but considered were players like Owen Beck, Filip Bystedt, and David Goyette.
Prospects like Brandt Clarke, Ryder Rolston, and Simon Latkoczy were highlighted as top young talents in the NHL with the potential to grow into impactful players in the future. The project aimed to provide insight into the future of the game by identifying promising young talent and their potential trajectories in the league.
