The City of Denver has recently updated its Downtown Area Plan, which hasn’t been revised since 2007. With significant changes in downtown Denver over the past two decades, city officials, including the Downtown Denver Partnership, are looking to reimagine the future of the city’s downtown area. Over the next 10 to 12 months, city planners will be engaging with the community to gather input and establish priorities for downtown Denver for the next 20 years. Themes like green spaces, connectivity, and economic prosperity are being discussed, with a focus on transportation, open spaces, and housing. The goal is to create a vibrant, sustainable, and livable downtown that reflects the community’s vision.
The plan covers a 2.5 square mile area in downtown Denver and addresses issues such as infrastructure, development, and public investment. The public is encouraged to participate in the planning process, with an opportunity to provide feedback at upcoming events, including a pop-up event at Skyline Park on Oct. 8.
This revitalized plan aims to guide future development in downtown Denver and ensure it remains a thriving and dynamic urban center. By engaging with the community and gathering input from residents, city officials hope to create a plan that reflects the values and priorities of the people who live and work in downtown Denver.
