A man named Damien Solano was arrested in Colorado Springs after two students at Fox Meadow Middle School overdosed on psilocybin mushrooms. The incident occurred when the students, aged between 12 and 16, met Solano in a King Soopers parking lot after connecting with him through a phone app the night before. The students were taken to Memorial Children’s Hospital for treatment, while Solano was found to be in possession of two ounces of psilocybin mushrooms at the time of his arrest.
The Colorado Springs Police Department worked with the parents of the juveniles to seize the remaining mushrooms and charged Solano with multiple counts, including unlawful distribution and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Detectives had posed as one of the juveniles to set up a meeting with Solano, leading to his arrest shortly after the incident.
The arrest highlights the dangers of illegal drug transactions involving minors and the impact it can have on the community. Parents are urged to monitor their children’s activities and be aware of who they are connecting with online to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of enforcing strict laws against drug distribution to protect the well-being of young individuals in the community.
