A Colorado school bus has been transformed into a mobile kitchen classroom at Cherry Creek Innovation Campus. Donated by the Tuchman Family Foundation, the bus serves as an extension of the Culinary Management program, where students cook and serve breakfast and lunch to their peers, teachers, and others. The Campus Creations Food Bus allows students to gain real-world experience in customer service, teamwork, and handling stress in a fast-paced environment. This initiative aims to teach valuable skills that are essential for future job opportunities. The students charge $5 to $6 for a meal and work efficiently in an assembly line to serve their customers. The district’s effort to provide hands-on experience is already proving to make a difference for the students involved. The next step for the food bus is to attend events such as STEAM-a-Palooza and high school football games. This innovative approach to education is not only teaching culinary skills but also important life skills that will benefit the students in their future endeavors.
