Alzheimer’s disease is a growing concern in Colorado, with nearly 91,000 residents among the 7 million Americans living with the condition. The disease is the seventh-leading cause of death in the United States and currently has no prevention or cure. The Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado relies on funds raised from these walks to provide support, information, and programs for those affected by Alzheimer’s and their caregivers, all at no charge.
The walk events also support research efforts to find a cure for Alzheimer’s, with the Alzheimer’s Association being the leading non-profit funder of Alzheimer’s research globally. With over $430 million funding 1,110 projects in 56 countries, the association is dedicated to finding a cure for this devastating disease.
These walks are set to take place across Colorado from August to October, providing an opportunity for individuals to register, volunteer, or make a donation to support the cause.
