After multiple explosions in Lebanon targeting Hezbollah militants, Qatar Airways has banned pagers and two-way radios on flights departing from Beirut. The ban applies to all passengers, both in carry-on and checked luggage, as well as cargo. This measure comes after the deadly attacks on Hezbollah’s communications equipment, which resulted in dozens of casualties and thousands of injuries. The Lebanese government and Hezbollah have accused Israel of being responsible for these attacks. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah condemned the violence, stating that it was an unprecedented blow to their organization and to Lebanon as a whole. Qatar Airways, a major airline in the Middle East with over 170 international destinations, has implemented this ban based on a directive from Lebanon’s civil aviation authorities. The ban will remain in effect until further notice. This decision reflects the heightened security concerns in the region following the recent attacks and aims to ensure the safety of passengers and crew on Qatar Airways flights departing from Beirut.
