A crash on Eastbound Interstate 70 has led to a full closure Tuesday through a portion of Glenwood Canyon. The Colorado State Patrol reported that a semi-truck traveling in the westbound lanes rolled over and landed in the eastbound lanes of the highway. The interstate was closed in both directions between the Grizzly Creek and Hanging Lake exits, with only westbound traffic being allowed through the crash area at 1:30 p.m. The crash occurred around 9:40 a.m. at milepost 123, where the westbound lanes are elevated above the eastbound lanes. The semi-truck fell from the upper deck to the lower deck, blocking both eastbound lanes. The driver was the only person involved in the crash and was taken to the hospital.
An extended closure is expected for the eastbound side of the interstate. The situation is still developing and more updates will follow.
