Images of Asian Victim Released by Prosecutors

Officials in New York released new details about an unidentified homicide victim, referred to as “Asian Doe,” whose skeletal remains were found in 2011 near Gilgo Beach. The victim, a biological male of Asian descent, was believed to have died around 2006. New forensic images show the victim as both male and female, and genetic genealogy suggests they were of Southern Chinese descent. The victim was wearing women’s clothing at the time of death, and may have been working as a sex worker. Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying the victim, who suffered a violent death by blunt force trauma and had been on Ocean Parkway for at least five years before discovery.

The victim was found near two other victims, Megan Waterman and Jessica Taylor, as part of the Gilgo Beach serial killings that spanned from the early 1990s to 2011. Rex Heuermann, a former New York architect, has been charged in connection with the slayings of six women tied to the case. Heuermann pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on “Asian Doe” to come forward, as they believe someone must know the victim’s identity. The investigation into the Gilgo Beach serial killings is ongoing, with each victim considered a separate crime scene. Until charges can be brought, officials stress the importance of focusing on solving each case individually.
