Fans gathered in Lot C outside Empower Field at Mile High before 8 a.m. to kick off the Denver Broncos’ home opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Catherine Highland, a dedicated fan who hasn’t missed a game in 25 years, was already set up for tailgating more than six hours before kickoff, serving fresh food to fellow fans. Highland, along with friends known as “Rescue Rob” and “Bronco Ken,” enjoys the community and food aspect of game day, and is particularly excited for Bo Nix.

Meanwhile, another fan, Elias Balderrama, is on a mission to win Fan of the Year for the Denver Broncos. A lifelong Broncos fan with a team tattoo on his arm, Balderrama has been a supporter since childhood and has a deep connection to the team.
