Former U.S. Men’s National Team player Reggie Cannon has signed with the Colorado Rapids, becoming the fourth U.S. international to join the team this season. Cannon’s contract will run through 2027 with a club option for 2028. He most recently played with Queens Park Rangers in England’s second division. The Rapids were able to sign him on a free transfer before the MLS roster freeze this Friday. In 22 caps for the USMNT, Cannon has scored a goal and provided two assists. He is known for his defensive skills and versatility on the back line, which will help the Rapids address issues at center back and left back positions. His new teammates in Colorado, Djordje Mihailovic and Zack Steffen, have also performed well under coach Chris Armas. With injuries affecting the Rapids’ defensive lineup, Cannon’s arrival will provide valuable depth and experience. He is eligible for selection this weekend as the Rapids take on the Portland Timbers at home. Overall, Cannon’s addition to the Rapids continues the trend of former USMNT players finding success with the team.
