A man has been arrested in connection with the Alexander Mountain fire that burned nearly 10,000 acres in Larimer County for almost three weeks. Jason Alexander Hobby, 49, faces multiple charges including arson, impersonation of a police officer, and false imprisonment. He is accused of pretending to be a law enforcement official and starting the fire, which led to road closures and evacuations in the area. It took over 530 personnel to contain the blaze, with support from local agencies and volunteers. Sheriff John Feyen expressed gratitude towards those involved in the investigation and response efforts. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information from the public regarding the case.
