After 15 Years, Denver’s Popular Comida Taco Restaurant Will Be Closing its Doors | Food, Dining & Beer

After 15 years of serving “peace, love, and tacos” to the Denver area, Comida at The Stanley Marketplace will be closing its doors on Sunday, Sept. 22. Owner Rayme Rossello expressed gratitude for the support received from both Stanley Marketplace ownership and loyal customers, calling the marketplace a “big bear hug.” The restaurant first started as a food truck in Boulder County and has since become known for its signature Mexican soul food made from scratch with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Rossello did not disclose what business will take over Comida’s 3,500-square-foot space, but mentioned that an official announcement will be made by Stanley Marketplace in the coming weeks. The staff was notified of the closure last week, and Rossello shared her deepest appreciation for their hard work and dedication on social media, wishing them success in their future endeavors.

As Comida prepares for its final service on Sept. 22, Rossello plans to reflect on the restaurant’s legacy through personal social media entries over the next two weeks. Despite the closure, Comida was chosen as one of the initial entrants in the Denver Gazette’s 2024 Taco Tournament earlier this year, showcasing the impact and popularity of the restaurant over the years. Customers will have one last chance to enjoy Comida’s offerings during brunch on their final day of service.
