A Longmont man, Brandon Scott Cox, 29, was arrested on six counts of sexual exploitation of a child for possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The investigation began after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) was received by the Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Cox was found to be distributing CSAM in the Boulder County area, leading to a search warrant of his home on Lashley St. near E. 17th Ave. in Longmont.
The search warrant, executed with the help of the Longmont SWAT Team, uncovered additional evidence of CSAM on electronic devices in Cox’s possession. He was subsequently booked into the Boulder County Jail on an arrest warrant with no bond on multiple charges related to possession and distribution of CSAM.
Deputies urge individuals to report any suspicions of child sexual exploitation online by calling 1-800-843-5678 or reporting it online. The arrest of Cox highlights the ongoing efforts to combat and address child sexual abuse material distribution in the community.
