A bomb blast near a police office in southwestern Pakistan has resulted in the death of at least two children and injuries to 16 people, including seven policemen. The attack, which occurred in Pishin district on Saturday, involved a remote-controlled bomb attached to a motorcycle. While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the need to identify and punish those behind the incident.
Provincial government spokesman Shahid Rind condemned the attack, stating that terrorists are targeting innocent individuals to achieve their malicious goals. Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department and Bomb Disposal Squad have been dispatched to the region to investigate the incident.
This bombing is the latest in a series of attacks by armed groups in Pakistan, including the recent shooting of a school van in Punjab that resulted in the deaths of two children. In February, two bomb blasts in Pishin and other locations claimed the lives of 28 people, with responsibility claimed by the ISIL (ISIS) group.
Pakistan has long struggled to combat various armed groups operating within its borders, including criminal organizations and militant groups like Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as the Pakistan Taliban. The government continues to face challenges in addressing the threat posed by these groups and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
