After months of delays for riders on Denver’s southeast corridor light rail lines, RTD has announced the completion of the Coping Panels Project ahead of schedule. The project, which began in April, aimed to replace defective wall caps along the E, H, and R Lines, causing single-track operations and delays for passengers. With the repairs finished, double-track operations resumed on Thursday evening, leading to improved travel times for customers. While some temporary speed restrictions will remain in place for unrelated track maintenance, RTD is continuously updating its Speed Restrictions webpage to inform riders of any changes. The ongoing work includes repairs and maintenance to isolated sections of track to ensure system safety and service reliability. E, H, and R line service will continue on the current schedule until September 29 as RTD transitions its focus to enhanced system safety and maintenance. The completion of the Coping Panels Project is part of RTD’s efforts to manage all assets in good repair and avoid costlier and more disruptive projects in the future. Riders can expect smoother operations and improved service as RTD continues its efforts to enhance the light rail system in Denver.
