Multiple mudslides in Colorado have caused road closures that will impact traffic for residents in the affected areas. The San Miguel Sheriff’s Office announced that Black Bear Pass will be closed for the season due to heavy damage near Bridal Veil Road caused by a mudslide. Deputies reported that parts of the road have been washed away, making it unsafe for travel.
Further north, Imogene Pass, a popular 4-wheeler trail leading to Ouray, is also closed due to debris from a mudslide. Crews are working to clear the area, but the closure may be extended as they continue cleanup efforts. In Telluride, Royer Lane and E. Colorado Avenue are closed until public works can clear the debris and make the road passable.
While traffic is still moving in and out of town, the exact timeline for when the debris will be removed and the roads reopened remains uncertain. The closures will likely lead to delays and changes in travel plans for those in the affected areas.
Residents are advised to check for updates from the San Miguel Sheriff’s Office and proceed with caution when traveling near the impacted roads. Officials are working diligently to clear the debris and ensure the safety of all travelers in the area.
