Authorities have announced that the Alexander Mountain Fire, which burned almost 10,000 acres and destroyed numerous homes and structures, is now 100% contained. The fire started on July 29 west of Loveland and has prompted mandatory and voluntary evacuations. Investigators have determined that the fire was caused by humans and are now looking into whether it was set intentionally. They are seeking the public’s help in the investigation and ask anyone with information to call the U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement Tip line at 303-275-5266.
Jason Sieg of the U.S. Forest Service expressed gratitude for the hard work put in to contain the fire but also acknowledged the stress and difficulty that the Cedar Park community has faced. Fire officials are now monitoring the burn area for any potential new fires.
The community has come together to support those who have lost property and homes due to the fire, with local agencies and community partners working to provide assistance. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, and any information from the public could be crucial in determining what led to the devastating blaze.
