The Colorado Rockies made a significant roster move by releasing catcher Elías Díaz, a veteran player who had been with the team for nearly five years. This decision is part of the Rockies’ ongoing youth movement, as they called up rookie Drew Romo from Triple-A Albuquerque to take Díaz’s place. Romo, a promising prospect, was set to make his major league debut against the San Diego Padres.
