A mudslide south of Glenwood Springs caused the closure of CO 82, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. The highway was shut down in both directions between Mile Point 5 and 6 due to significant debris from the mudslide. More than 50 truckloads of debris have been removed and crews are working to clear the highway for reopening. Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route using County Road 154 until the highway reopens. Eastbound lanes towards Aspen are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, with the goal of fully opening the highway by noon. Monday morning commuters are advised to plan for extra travel time.
