After a successful two-decade run, Elway’s Cherry Creek, a popular celebrity-owned steakhouse in Denver, is set to close its doors on August 31st. The closure is due to ongoing construction at the Cherry Creek Mall, which is creating a new mixed-use retail and shopping area. The restaurant, co-owned by former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway, has been a legendary gathering spot for special events and family celebrations.
Despite the closure, Elway’s recently opened a new location at Denver International Airport in Concourse A, showcasing its continued popularity and expansion. Additionally, the Ritz-Carlton completed a renovation of the Elway’s location within its hotel at 1881 Curtis St.
Patrons have been encouraged to visit the Cherry Creek location one last time before it shuts down, with plans to work with development partners to determine a new post-construction location. The restaurant’s legacy in Denver will be remembered for its high standard of dining, celebrity appeal, and role as a beloved local spot.
